A few million dollars doesn't go as far as it used to

Al Mohler posted an article last week about millionaires who are struggling to make ends meet. At the end of the article he quotes Rockefeller's witty but accurate statement on money, "all we need is a little bit more."

I wonder what the thought process is of these folks who live in the top 2% as they accumulate their wealth. The article eludes to the idea that once you have one set of furniture you instant begin to look for the next set you will need to buy, or now that you are in a certain income bracket you must include on your resume a membership to this or that social club. I only wonder why it seems so difficult for these folks to live in a lifestyle less than their means. Is a million dollar home truly that much more to a family than a home that goes for $500K? These are just some of my often unanswered questions/ thoughts. I like this verse to comment on this topic: "You have made my days a mere handbreadth; the span of my years is as nothing before you. Each man's life is but a breath. Man is a mere phantom as he goes to and fro: He bustles about, but only in vain; he heaps up wealth, not knowing who will get it. But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you." Psalm 39:5-7

that verse is a great response to this article...it has a way of putting things into perspective. like my mom always said, "you never see uhauls following hearses"
